At Barclay Academy Sixth Form, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum, including a range of A Level and vocational (BTEC) qualifications. Each subject page provides detailed information to help students make informed choices about their study pathways.
We also encourage students to complement their academic studies with an additional enrichment qualification. Opportunities may include the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Core Maths, the Engineering Education Scheme, Gold Arts Award and Young Enterprise. These experiences are designed to broaden students’ post-16 pathways and support the development of valuable skills, knowledge and independence beyond the classroom.

Key Stage 5 (Y12 and Y13)
We offer a broad range of subjects that cater to all students, preparing them fully for their next steps in education.
We invite students to apply for one of three pathways:
- A level pathway ( Study 3 A-levels )
- Combined pathway ( Study 2 BTEC’s and 1 A-level )
- BTEC pathway (Study 3 BTEC’s)
All of these pathways can lead to a place at university, and we will help students pick the pathway which is right for them to ensure that they achieve the best possible grades. Any students who have not yet achieved a 4 in either English Language or Maths GCSE will receive timetabled lessons to prepare them to retake this qualification.
