Enrichment & extracurricular activities

At Barclay Academy Sixth Form, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programme is designed to complement academic study while equipping students with the skills, experiences and confidence they need for life after Sixth Form.

Students benefit from a wide range of subject-specific, cultural and career-focused visits, helping to bring learning to life and broaden their understanding of future pathways.

We also welcome guest speakers from universities and industry, offering valuable insight and inspiration as students consider their next steps.

For high-achieving students, our Future Scholars Programme provides tailored support for applications to competitive universities, including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions.

Work Experience and Employer Engagement

We are currently developing our work experience offer, including partnerships and employer links. Further details will be shared shortly.

Super-Curricular Opportunities

‘Super-curricular’ is the learning that happens in sixth form that goes beyond the curriculum and A-Level specifications.

At Barclay Academy, we encourage every sixth former to fully engage in a range of super-curricular activities, including:

  • Extra reading, including academic works and journals
  • Mentoring KS3 Students
  • Attendance at university lectures and taster courses
  • Online lecture courses
  • Visiting museums and galleries
  • Listening to academic podcasts
  • Entering academic competitions
